Course description

This course will help staff to improve the lives of people who display challenging behaviour. It focuses on how staff can support others demonstrate positive actions and behaviour.

This course supports care workers by helping them identify what actions they should or should not demonstrate.  And gives advice on how to remain safe, keep others safe and how to act within organisational, local and national procedures / guidelines. This course will help staff from a variety of social care settings. For example, residential care, respite care, day services, educational provision and the voluntary sector etc.

This course will also help staff to improve the lives of people who display challenging behaviour by helping them support others.

At Level 2, this course is equivalent to GCSE or ‘O’ Level. This programme is divided into 10 modules.

Each module of the Challenging Behaviour (Elderly) programme begins within an introduction, and states the learning outcomes for the module. Learning outcomes are statements explaining what you will understand or be able to do by the time you have finished studying each module. You will see that the assessment questions are closely linked to the learning outcomes. You can check whether you have met the each learning outcome by successfully completing the associated assessment questions.

Previous knowledge

No prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course.

Assessment

Completing a series of tutor marked assignments and or activities marked by your assigned tutor.

You will receive the course manual, assignments, study guide or on-line password and access to learning resources depending on the type of course you start i.e paper based or on-line. Full  tutor support by mail, email and on-line via our partner organisation depending on your chosen study route. Their student support team are als
