The CMI Level 7 Qualifications in Professional Consulting have been developed by Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in cooperation with the Institute of Consulting (IC).

Who are these courses for?

These qualifications are designed for Professional Consultants who want to develop their strategic skills within consulting such as organisational structure and culture, entry and diagnosis, communicating strategies for consulting and group dynamics and facilitating skills.

The Diploma

With a more comprehensive structure, our CMI Level 7 Diploma in Professional Consulting (QCF) gives you the skills and competencies youll need as a Consultant. The mandatory units focus on organisational structure and culture, entry and diagnosis, managing consultancy interventions and tools and techniques for effective consulting. This qualification also gives you the chance to improve your skills in management & leadership and coaching & mentoring through the optional unit choices. A CMI diploma in Professional Consulting is the benchmark qualification for full IC membership, taking you another step closer towards Chartered Manager status.

Learners must complete all mandatory units to a total of 32 credits and three optional units to a minimum of 20 credits to achieve this qualification.

7020 - Leadership coaching and mentoring skills (7 credits)

Assessment

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments fully supported by an experienced tutor. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own and organisation's context.

Progression

The qualifications provide opportunities for progression onto the CMI Award, Certificate or Diploma in Level 8 Strategic Direction and Leadership (QCF).

Top up

Learners who have previously completed the Award or Certificate in Management Consultancy can opt to do a "top up" qualification. By doing this, learners are able to gain a greater understanding of Professional Consulting and achieve a recognised qualification on the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), which is also mapped and recognised on the European Qualification Framework (EQF).
