Course description

This Diabetes Care for the Elderly Level 2 course has been developed for people who are involved in the care sector and aims to give all staff, supervisors and managers the essential knowledge and skills needed to offer professional diabetes management.

This course will help students to become more effective whilst working with diabetes and able to help help others cope with it. This Diabetes Care for the Elderly course will give students the opportunity to develop further key skills in this important area.

The Diabetes Care for the Elderly programme course is divided into nine modules and is support material is designed to be used as core reading material which students can work through at their own pace.

Each module asks you to complete a number of structured questions and activities to ensure that you have absorbed the required underpinning knowledge on health and safety, and to provide evidence for core skills assessment. The Activities and Assessments Workbook that is included in your Diabetes Care for the Elderly learning pack contains all of these questions, as well as exercises and activities for revision to reinforce your learning. All of these must be assessed by your Tutor/mentor.

Previous knowledge

No prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course.

Assessment

Completing a series of tutor marked assignments and or activities marked by your assigned tutor.

You will receive the course manual, assignments, study guide or on-line password and access to learning resources depending on the type of course you start i.e paper based or on-line. Full tutor support by mail, email and on-line via our partner organisation depending on your chosen study route. Their student support team are also available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that 12 months unlimited support will be available during your studies. There will be no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.

Start times

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.
