Course description
This TQUK Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) is suitable for any individual currently working as a carer and those hoping to start a career in the care sector. This course gives a basic foundation of knowledge in terms of overall understanding of the subject and helps to raise sector standards.
Health and social care covers a wide range of service users who have different levels and types of needs. This course explores both the important mental and physical support needs of service users.
Students can expect to learn about the role of the health and social care worker, key principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care. In addition, the causes and spread of infection etc.
Please Note: a work placement of at least 50 hours is required to complete this course.
With this course learners can study at a time and pace to suit their own needs and commence study when best for them.
Students will cover 17 modules during tnis course.

Unit 4: Implement person centred approaches in health & social care
Unit 5: Principles of safeguarding and protection in health & social care

Unit 7: Principles of infection prevention and control
Unit 8: Causes & spread of infection
Unit 9: Cleaning, decontamination and waste management
Unit 10: Support individuals to meet personal care needs
Unit 11: Contribute to the support of positive risk-taking for individuals
Unit 12: Move & position individuals in accordance with their plan of care
Unit 13: Handle information in health & social care settings
Unit 14: Contribute to health and safety in health and social care
Unit 15: Introduction to duty of care in health and social care settings
Unit 16: Introduction to equality and inclusion in health & social care
Unit 17: Introduction to personal development in health & social care
Previous knowledge
No prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course.
Assessment
Completing a series of tutor marked assignments and or activities marked by your assigned tutor.

You will receive the course manual, assignments, study guide or on-line password and access to learning resources depending on the type of course you start i.e paper based or on-line. Full tutor support by mail, email and on-line via our partner organisation depending on your chosen study route. Their student support team are also available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that 12 months unlimited support will be available during your studies. There will be no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.
Start times
You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.
