Course description

This Understanding Epilepsy Level 2 course aims to build learners understanding of what it means to have epilepsy and how they can help people in their care who have this condition.

The programme is suitable for staff working in hospitals, care homes, day centres, and in peoples own homes.  This is reflected in the words used to refer to the people receiving care; patient, resident, and client are used.

The Understanding Epilepsy programme Level 2 is quivalent to GCSE or O Level. This course is divided into 12 modules.

There is an activities study booklet with the course containing the activities learners need to complete the course successfully.  These activities are marked by a tutor who gives written feedback on assessments and supports and guides the learner throughout the course.

Module 9: Supporting vulnerable people with epilepsy
Module 10: Maintaining dignity and respect
Module 11: Explaining the myths
Module 12: Relevant UK legislation

Previous knowledge

No prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course.

Assessment

Completing a series of tutor marked assignments and or activities marked by your assigned tutor.

You will receive the course manual, assignments, study guide or on-line password and access to learning resources depending on the type of course you start i.e paper based or on-line. Full  tutor support by mail, email and on-line via our partner organisation depending on your chosen study route. Their student support team are also available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that 12 months unlimited support will be available during your studies. There will be no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.

Start times

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.
